These papers document the life and work of economist and professor, Josef Soudek (1905-1992). Soudek was born in Bodenbach an der Elbe, Bohemia (now Podmokly, Czech Republic) and immigrated to the United States in 1936 with his wife Gretel and her mother, Else Heimann. The bulk of the records consists of correspondence, primarily between Soudek, his wife, other family members and friends.
